Mendelara,  you will take notice that on October 25, 2025, Plaintiff, filed an Amended Complaint for foreclosure in the Geauga County Court of Common Pleas, 100 Short Court Street, Room 300, Chardon, Ohio 44024, being Case No. 25-F-000224, alleging that there is due to the Plaintiff the sum of $76,965.76,  and a non-interest bearing deferred balance of $3,374.13 plus interest at 6.500% per annum from March 01, 2024, plus late charges and fees applicable to the terms of a Promissory Note secured by a Mortgage on the real property, which has a street address of 16595 Wren Road, Chagrin Falls, OH 44023, being permanent Parcel Number: 02051645.

Plaintiff further alleges that by reason of a default in payment of said Promissory Note, the conditions of said Mortgage have been broken and the same has become absolute.

Plaintiff prays that the Defendant named above be required to answer and assert any interest in said real property or be forever barred from asserting any interest therein, for foreclosure of said mortgage, marshalling of liens, and the sale of said real property, and that the proceeds of said sale be applied according to law.

Said Defendant is required to file an Answer on or before the twenty-eighth day following the last date of Publication.

PUBLIC ANNOUNCEMENT 

FOR DESIGN/BUILD RFP

West Geauga Local School District

The Board of Education of the West Geauga Local School District intends to contract for Design/Build Engineering and Architectural services in connection with the construction of a new Water Treatment/Maintenance Building as described in the Design/Build Criteria Document for the West Geauga Local School District’s Water Treatment & Maintenance Facility. Firms interested in being considered for a contract to perform the required services should reply with a sealed written proposal to the Treasurer’s Office no later than 3:00 pm on December 12, 2025. Proposals received after this deadline will not be considered. We will be opening those proposals at 3:00 pm and all firms are welcome to attend. 

Proposals should include information regarding the firm’s history; education and experience of owners and key technical personnel; the technical expertise of the firm’s current staff; the firm’s experience in performing engineering studies, design, construction administration, and construction observation; availability of staff; the firm’s equipment and facilities; references; and any previous work performed for West Geauga Local Schools.

Proposals must be submitted to: Karen Pavlat, Treasurer / CFO, at 8615 Cedar Road, Chesterland, Ohio, 44026.

Submit all questions for this RFP in writing to Scott Amstutz at scott.amstutz@westg.org and cc karen.pavlat@westg.org (no phone calls please).

The services will be conducted pursuant to Ohio Revised Code §153.65-73. All responding firms will be evaluated and ranked in order of their qualifications. Following this evaluation, the West Geauga Local Schools will enter into contract negotiations with the most highly qualified firm.

The preliminary project description is as follows:

Name of Project: Water Treatment Plant & Maintenance Facility

Location: 8615 Cedar Road, Chesterland, Ohio, 44026. Grounds behind the West Geauga Middle School on the Main Campus.

Criteria Architect / Engineer and Owner’s Representative during duration of the Project: Osborn Engineering

Description: Water Treatment Facility with Maintenance Building. The water treatment facility must contain all necessary equipment directed and approved by the EPA criteria. The building for both water treatment and the maintenance facility are described in the Criteria Document.

Scope of Services: As properly authorized, provide all design professional and consultant services, including services in the following categories: Design Development, Construction Document Preparation, Permit Procurement, Construction, and Post-Construction / Closeout services.

Engineer’s Opinion of Probable Project Cost (including but not limited to design and construction): $5,200,000.

Source of Funding: District will fund the project in full.

Anticipated dates for design startup/permitting: February 2026 / May 2026

Anticipated dates for construction startup/completion: On or before June 2026 / July 2027

Special Requirements or Restrictions: Anticipate the Design/Build Engineer & Architect will work with the West Geauga Water Engineer with specifics related to equipment (mechanical and electrical) and orientation of equipment (space and plumbing needs) to properly install and service the equipment.
