Notice is hereby given that sealed bids will be received to perform HVAC Maintenance and Services as required at Geauga County Buildings until 1:45 p.m., Wednesday, April 3, 2019, in the Geauga County Board of Commissioners Office at 470 Center Street, Bldg. #4, Chardon, Ohio 44024, or by mail at the same address. Bids received shall be publicly opened and read aloud the same day at said office at 2:00 p.m.
The bid packets with specs and instructions may be picked up directly at the Geauga County Maintenance Department, 470 Center Street, Building #1-B, Chardon, Ohio 44024, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Tuesday through Thursday starting from Thursday, March 21, 2019 until Tuesday, April 2, 2019.
A bid bond is not required for this contract as the Board of Commissioners has exempted the bid from the requirements of O.R.C. Section 153.54.
The successful bidder is required to furnish a performance bond for the faithful performance of the contract in a sum of not less than one hundred percent (100%) of the total contract price for the complete work, said bond to be that of an approved surety company authorized to transact business in the State of Ohio meeting the requirements of the O.R.C. Section 153.57. As the total amount of the services to be performed under the two-year hourly maintenance and service contract period is currently unknown, bidders are requested to submit a performance bond in the minimum amount of $80,000.00.
Prevailing wage rates are applicable to the project regardless of any contractual relationship which may be said to exist between the contractor or subcontractor and such individual.
Envelope containing the bid and other required documents should be sealed and clearly marked “Bid – Geauga County HVAC Maintenance and Services”, Attention Clerk, Geauga County Board of Commissioners, 470 Center Street, Building #4, Chardon, Ohio 44024. Your Bid Envelope must be received no later than 1:45 p.m. on Bid Opening Day, April 3, 2019.
