PUBLIC NOTICE

Geauga Transit intends to submit a proposal for a capital grant under the provision of 49 USC Section 5310 of the Federal Transit Act to provide transportation service for the elderly and disabled within Geauga County. The grant proposal will request additional operating assistance.

It is projected that 35,000 riders will use Geauga Transit annually for various activities, including but not limited to transportation to work, medical appointments, and senior centers. Geauga Transit invites comments and proposals from all interested public, private and paratransit operators including taxi operators, for the provision of transportation service to the elderly and disabled within our service area.

Operators who are interested in offering proposals to provide service should contact Andrea Aaby, Director of Compliance & Development, at aaaby@laketran.com to obtain full details of the type of transportation service that is needed prior to preparing a proposal.

Notice is hereby given that in pursuance of a Resolution of the Bainbridge Township, Ohio, passed on the 12th day of January, 2026, there will be submitted to a vote of the people at the Primary Election to be held at the regular places of voting on Tuesday, the 5th day of May, 2026 the question of levying a tax, in excess of the ten-mill limitation:

 

An additional tax for the benefit of Bainbridge Township for the purpose of general construction, reconstruction, resurfacing, and repair of streets, roads, and bridges that the county auditor estimates will collect $1,015,989 annually, at a rate not exceeding 1.2 mills for each $1 of taxable value, which amounts to $42 for each $100,000 of the county auditor’s market value for a continuing period of time, commencing in 2026, first due in calendar year 2027.

HUNTSBURG TOWNSHIP

The Huntsburg Township Board of Trustees will receive sealed proposals until 2:00 p.m. on May 5, 2026, proposals will be opened and read aloud for the following road materials at 8:00 pm during the township meeting May 6th. Road materials included are #57, #67, #304, #411, #617 Limestone, #57 Steel and Light Slag and #4 Steel and Light Slag, washed #8 limestone, cold mix, asphalt grindings, cinders and salt, Materials are to be delivered on an as needed basis to our designated yard.

All bids are to be marked Road Materials Bid and sent to Huntsburg Township, P.O. Box 280, Huntsburg OH 44046. The Huntsburg Township Board of Trustees reserves the right to reject any or all bids, waive any informalities or irregularities in the bids received, and to accept any bid or bids which are deemed most favorable to the Board at the time and under conditions stipulated, all in accord with the applicable provisions of the laws of the State of Ohio governing the conduct of the Board of Trustees.

Notice is hereby given that the Chester Township Zoning Commission will conduct a public hearing on a motion which is an amendment, identified as number ZC-2026-2 to the Chester Township Zoning Resolution at the Chester Town Hall located at 12701 Chillicothe Road, at 7:00 p.m. on May 20, 2026.

The motion proposing to amend the Zoning Resolution will be available for examination at the Chester Town Hall during regular office hours and available on the Chester Township website from April 15, 2026 to the end of all public hearings. 

After the conclusion of the public hearing, the matter will be submitted to the board of township trustees for its action.
