The Village of Burton will hold a public hearing pursuant to Ohio Revised Code Section 715.72(I) on Monday, August 10, 2020 at 7:00 PM on the second floor of the Burton Public Library located at 14588 West Park Street. The purpose of the public hearing is to seek public input concerning (1) the formation of a Joint Economic Development District (“JEDD”) between the Village of Burton and Burton Township for the property in Burton Township where the new Berkshire School District campus will be located; and (2) the terms of the JEDD Agreement. The public is invited to review the proposed JEDD Agreement and submit comments or questions during the hearing. Copies of the proposed JEDD Agreement, map of the property to be included in the JEDD and the income tax schedule will be available for public inspection for a period of thirty days prior to the public hearing at the Village’s Administrative Office located at 14588 W. Selection of Public Depository
Geauga County
Pursuant to Section 135.33 of the Ohio Revised Code the Geauga County Board of Commissioners will accept applications from eligible institutions desiring to be a public depository of active moneys for the County of Geauga. The county treasurer has estimated the aggregate amount of public moneys that might be available for deposit as active moneys at any one time during the next four-year period (October 12, 2020 to October 11, 2024) to be the sum of One Hundred Million Dollars ($100,000,000.00).
The application shall state the maximum amount of active public moneys that the institution desires to receive and have on deposit at any time during the period covered by the designation. The application shall be accompanied by a financial statement of the applicant submitted under oath of its cashier, treasurer or other officer and shall include a statement of its public and non-public deposits. All service charges to be made against the moneys in accordance with R.C. 135.33(D) must be specified as well. Applicants must abide by all provisions of Chapter 135 of the Ohio Revised Code and any other applicable federal and state law pertaining to public depositories. Application forms will be available on the website and can be found at www.co.geauga.oh.us/notices/legal-notices .
Applications must be received in the Office of the Board of Commissioners, County of Geauga, 470 Center Street, Building #4, Chardon, Ohio 44024, no earlier than August 2, 2020 and no later than 2:00 p.m. on August 19, 2020. Applications must be clearly marked “Application of Public Depository-Attn: Christine Blair, Clerk”.
The Board shall designate the public depository(ies) of active moneys for the next succeeding four-year period at its regular session on Tuesday, September 1, 2020 at or after 9:00 a.m.
