Albert J. Morhard 

Noted trial attorney and Judge Albert J. Morhard passed away on Saturday morning, Aug. 16, 2025. He was 95 years old. He was born in 1929.

Al was an All-Ohio quarterback in football and member of the 1947 state championship baseball team at Cleveland Heights High School. He played three sports and was president of his class at Western Reserve University, where he received a Bachelor’s of Art in History, and received a J.D. at Cornell University Law School.

Alberty had been president of the Cuyahoga County Bar Association, the Cleveland Academy of Trial Attorneys; a trustee of the Cleveland Law Library, the Ohio State Bar Foundation and others; acting judge of the Lyndhurst Municipal Court; and an adjunct professor at Kent State University.

He leaves his wife, Ruth (nee Hanford Reid); children, Dr. Susan Louise Posada (Miguel), Albert Joseph Morhard Jr. (Kristina) and Kathleen Ann Miller (Steven); stepchildren, Gerald Michael Reid, Mary Elisabeth Reid (Raymond Rundelli), Patricia Lynn Reid; grandchildren, Kristopher Morhard, Alexandria Posada, Lauren Baker (Anderson), Daniel Miller, Matthew Miller, Thomas Miller, John Miller and Andrew Miller; step-grandchildren, Dr. Cody Johnson (Megan), Claire Rundelli (Steve), Grace Moehring (Kevin), Shannon Reid, Kelly Reid; great-grandchild, Avery Marsolais; and step-great-grandchildren, Josephine Johnson and Saoirse Johnson.

Predeceasing Al were his grandchild Nicholas Posada and step-child Margrit Reid (Jimmy Roddy).

A memorial/celebration of life will be held Saturday, Sept. 20, 2025, at 3 p.m., at Albert and Ruth Morhard’s home in Chardon, 8382 Woodhill Drive, Chardon, which will be live-streamed via a link on his web page at www.Brown-Forward.com.
