Anthony Barcikowski

MIDDLEFIELD – Anthony “Pete” Barcikowski, of Middlefield, passed away Aug. 25, 2015, at University Hospitals Geauga Medical Center. He was 72.

He was born April 13, 1943, in Cleveland, son of Anthony Barcikowski and Alice (nee Fritz) Barcikowski Slater.

After graduating from Burton High School, Pete served in the U.S. Army from 1962-1965.

Pete married Dianna Laing on Oct. 23, 1965, and was married 49 loving years. They were longtime residents of the Burton-Middlefield area.

He retired from Robbins Company, where he was a machinist specialist for 48 years.

His hobbies included bowling and golfing.

He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Pete will be missed dearly by his friends and family, including his beloved wife, Dianna; son, Todd (Carrie) Barcikowski, of Parkman Township; daughters, Tammy (Mark) Dingman, of Burton, and Kim (Steve) Kolat, of Huntsburg Township; grandchildren Taylor, Alli, Kayla, Kannon and Julianna; step-grandchildren, Jessica Boneham and Steven Kolat; mother, Alice Slater, of Burton; brother, John (Peg) Barcikowski, of Aurora; step-brothers, Dale (Ann) Slater, of Chester Township, and Butch (Jo-Ann) Slater, of Garrettsville; and brother-in-law, Donald Laing, of California.

He was preceded in death by his granddaughter Jennifer Kolat; father, Anthony Barcikowski; step-father, Robert Slater; and brother-in-law Dennis Laing.

A Celebration of his Life will be held at a later date.

The family wishes to give their appreciation to the doctors, nurses and staff at ER, ICU and 2 South at UH Geauga Medical Center for all their care and support.
