Betty Jean Hersh
Betty Jean Hersh, age 89, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Oct. 28, 2023, at Ohman Family Living at Briar in Middlefield.
She was born on Dec. 13, 1933, to Roscoe and Lillie (nee Tyler) Fidler, in South Euclid, Ohio.
Betty was a proud mother, raising five children over the years. She loved spending time with her kids, taking them roller skating, cheering at sport events and sledding at Punderson State Park.
Later in life she found a love for square dancing and spending time with her sister, Juanita. Betty and Juanita enjoyed socializing at all the senior centers.
Betty was happiest when she was doing activities with her eight grandchildren.
She will be remembered for her big heart and generous personality.
Betty is survived by her children Steven Hersh, William (Jean) Hersh, Don (Chris) Hersh and Hope (Harry) Holt; grandchildren, Beau, Brittany, Jessica, Billy, Amber, Josh, Rachel (Lester) and Patrick (Melissa); sister, Juanita Hull; and many nieces, nephews and great-grandchildren.
She is preceded by her loving husband, Alvin Hersh; oldest son, Richard; and brothers, Al and Larry.
A visitation for friends and family will be held Thursday, Nov. 2, 2023, from 10 a.m. to 12 noon, at Burr Funeral Home, 116 South St., Chardon. The funeral service for Betty will be held following the visitation at 12 noon.
Burial will take place at Whitehaven Memorial Park, 615 S.O.M. Center Road, Mayfield Heights.
