Blair Dodge

She was born in Cleveland, Ohio, on May 26, 1942, and raised in Euclid, Ohio, where she attended Holy Cross Elementary School. In 1955, the Robertson family moved to Chardon, Ohio.
Blair attended Chardon High School, where she met her future husband, Tony Wearsch. The two married in 1963 and lived in Kirtland Hills, Ohio, where they raised a family. Following Tony’s passing in 1981, she remarried in 1986 to Doug Dodge. They moved to Mentor on the Lake, where they spent 18 years together until she was widowed in 2005.
A proud graduate of Chardon High School, Blair furthered her education at Lakeland Community College and Kent State University and was a distinguished member of the National Residential Appraisal Institute.
In 1974, she became a licensed real estate salesperson, eventually becoming a broker and making significant contributions to her profession. She was director and later on president of the Geauga Board of Realtors. She was trustee to the Ohio Association of Realtors and governor of the Northern Ohio Regional Multiple Listing Service.
In 1990, she became a senior and licensed appraiser and opened her second business, Valuation Consultants. She took much pride as acting trustee for the Community Improvement Corporation in Geauga County, where she helped to uplift many small businesses.
After her first husband’s death, she continued to operate Wearsch Realty until 2000.
Blair is survived by her three children, Thayer (Terry) Wearsch-Hegner, S. Wearsch and Martin Wearsch; as well as her two grandchildren, Emily (Brian) Hegner-Gates and Molly Hegner.
She also is survived by her beloved brother, Stu (Sue) Robertson; and sisters, Beth (Larry) Buehner, Sally Robertson and Tina Lanphear; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Blair was preceded in death by her parents, Wilma (nee Ritter) and Henry Robertson; her husbands, C. Anthony Wearsch and Doug M. Dodge; and her brother-in-law, Jeff Lanphear.
In her spare time, Blair enjoyed cooking, playing bridge at the Mentor Senior Center and traveling.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Blair’s life Sunday, Dec. 21, 2025, from 1-4 p.m., at The Lodge at Bass Lake in Munson Township, Ohio.
A graveside ceremony will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family ask donations to be made to the David Simpson Hospice House of the Western Reserve.
