Connie J. Rein
Connie J. Rein, age 81, of Chardon, peacefully passed away May 3, 2023, at University Hospitals Geauga Medical Center.
She was born on April 22, 1942, to Raymond and Opal (nee Mollohan) McElwain, in Tioga, W. Va.
Connie married Bruce Rein Sr. on July 16, 1960, in Burton.
Connie had been an office assistant and telephone operator for Ohio Bell Telephone Company. She was a member of Chardon Assembly of God Church and had attended Lakeland Community College and Kent State University.
She enjoyed playing cards with friends, knitting, sewing and lounging on the beach.
Spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren was her favorite thing to do.
Connie is survived by her daughter, Sandra (Kenneth) Skipper, of Sanford, N.C.; sons, Bruce (Audrey) Rein Jr., of Hambden Township, and Robert (Ginney) Rein, of Chardon; grandchildren, Robert Jr., Scott, Daniel, Alyson (Bill) O’Donnell, Jacob (Kolotita) Gallagher and Mackenzie Gallagher; six great-grandchildren; sister Helen Heath, of Bellevue, Ohio.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; great-grandson Liam Gallagher; sisters, Marie Yahnert, Doris Madsen, Betty Lou Lowthian; and brothers, C. Paul and James McElwain.
Visitation will be held May 6, 2023, from 4-6 p.m., at Burr Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 116 South St., Chardon, with a funeral service following at 6 p.m.
A private interment will be at Western Reserve National Cemetery.
