David M. Kluk, age 73, beloved and devoted lifelong husband for 50 years of Patricia “Patty” (nee McHugh); loving father of Jennifer (husband Jeff Schill) and Stephanie (husband Vince Lopez); devoted “Papa” of Lauren Becker, Milo Lopez, Jason Schill, Olive Lopez and Daniel Schill; cherished son of the late Martin and Gloria (nee Smargiassi); dearest brother of Sandra Kluk, Debbie Nelson (husband Michael), Laura Koch (husband Robert) and Robert Kluk (wife Denise); treasured brother-in-law of Ann McHugh and Edward Mallinak, and the late Mary Kay and John Fox Sr.; dear uncle, great uncle and friend of many.
Survived by his faithful canine companion Loki.
Dave was born on March 9, 1950, in Cleveland, and passed away Dec. 16, 2023, surrounded by his loving family.
He graduated from St. Joseph High School, in 1968, and went on to college at Cleveland State University and graduated from Cuyahoga Community College with his associate degree.
Dave worked as a chemist and chief lab manager at NSL Analytical Co., where he retired on Sept. 15, 2017, after 40 years. The mayor of Warrensville Heights declared the day as “David Kluk Day.”
He participated in the 1992 Cleveland Decathlon, enjoyed making wine and fishing, was an avid Browns fan and gardener, and loved to cook.
His most enjoyment was spending time with his family and going to his grandkid’s events.
Dave loved to travel, especially to Disney, where he took his family five times over the years.
Many would describe him as a sociable, hardworking, caring person who was dedicated, strong and extraordinary with a great sense of humor. Mostly, he was a devoted husband, father and Papa.
Dave will be missed dearly by everyone who knew and loved him.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 22, 2023, at St. Anselm Catholic Church, 12969 Chillicothe Road, Chesterland. Burial following at All Souls Cemetery in Chardon Township.
Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of David at The DeJohn Funeral Home & Celebrations Center of Chesterland, 12811 Chillicothe Road, on Thursday, Dec. 21, 2023, from 3-5 p.m. and 6-8 p.m.
