David Wayne Fisher

Dave’s one-liners, stories and jokes left an indelible mark on everyone who knew him, reflecting a life defined by joy, kindness, love and generosity.
Above all, Dave cherished his family. He is survived by his loving wife, Linda; his devoted daughter and son-in-law, Carrie and Joe Hollings; and his son, Brian.
His joy was multiplied by the love he had for his beloved nephew, Tim, Tim’s wife, Dani, and their daughters, Layla, Olive and Juniper.
Dave’s presence as the bedrock of his family will be deeply missed.
Dave’s career started in the classroom as a schoolteacher in Chardon, Ohio, and his path took a creative turn as he ventured into sales management roles at Campbell’s and Pierre’s Ice Cream and later became the proprietor of Weber’s Ice Cream Shoppe in Mentor, Ohio. He was also an esteemed member of the team at Burr Funeral Home, where his compassionate nature provided comfort to many families during their times of need.
An avid accordion player, Dave’s music enlivened restaurants and nursing homes alike, bringing smiles to faces with every note. His passion for the Glenn Miller Orchestra was more than just a hobby; he wrote and published a book about Glenn Miller, capturing the magic of a bygone era. His love for music even led him on tour with the Glenn Miller Orchestra.
Dave also co-wrote a book with his cousins celebrating his family and childhood growing up in Mayfield Village at Fisher’s Tavern, a testament to his dedication to preserving treasured memories.
Dave’s faithful companion, Hotshot, whom he lost one week prior to his death, was more than a pet; he was “his boy,” whom he rescued and loved. Together, they shared countless quiet moments of friendship and nightly cuddles.
Described by those who knew him as funny, loving and generous, Dave brought laughter and light wherever he went. He lived out this creed daily, brightening the lives of those around him with his wit and boundless heart.
He wasn’t known as a cook, but he used to make toast until he lost the recipe. Stubborn in the best way, he never asked for help. He was always the one giving it.
Dave’s story teaches us the power of a life well lived—one filled with laughter, music and an unrelenting commitment to serving others with a generous spirit, all life lessons he learned at the elbow of his Father. He will be remembered not only for the life he led but also for the countless lives he touched with his joy and benevolence.
