Donald Lee Morris Jr.
Donald Lee Morris Jr., age 70, of Rock Creek, formerly of Hambden Township, died Nov. 7, 2023, at The Cleveland Clinic.
He was born Nov. 9, 1952, to Donald L. and Wilda (nee Wilson) Morris Sr., in West Branch, Mich.
Don was a member of Aerie Eagles #2261, Chardon. He owned and operated the Hambden Country Inn from 1982 to 1998, and his love for food continued on with many catering jobs of all kinds.
His greatest joy was spending time with his daughters and grandchildren. He wore many hats, but his most precious title was being “Papa.” He was the loudest cheerleader at his grandchildren’s games.
He loved watching the Cleveland Browns and NASCAR, tending to his garden and going to the race track.
“Don’t worry, Dad, we will see that the grass gets mowed.”
He was a “jack of all trades,” always there to help anyone in need.
Don, even as ill as he was, always managed to make people laugh. He was tough as nails, but had a huge heart. He was a great son, father, Papa and ex-husband (LOL Karen) and friend to all. “Love you Bunches, Dad.”
He retired from Belvoir Oil and Gas after 15-plus years of loyal service.
Don is survived by his daughters, Kelly (Nate) Davis, of Streetsboro, and Kristy Morris, of Hambden; grandchildren, Zachary and Eve.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Roger and David.
The family received friends and held a brief service Nov. 10, 2023, at the Burr Funeral Home, 116 South Street, Chardon.
Private family burial held at Hambden Township Cemetery.
