Eleanor Mae Berman
Our dear mom, Eleanor Mae Berman (nee Wilmot), age 95, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on July 24, 2023.
Ellie was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Ted J. Berman; brother Dick Wilmot, of Cape Coral, Fla.; and parents, Hardy and Frank B. Wilmot, of Claridon Township.
We will miss her, but she will live on in her children, Bruce J. (Arlene) Berman, Sandy B. (Tom) Wadsworth, Tim J (Terri) Berman, Ted Robert (Debbie) Berman, Robert Alan (Nicole) Berman; and grandchildren, Kelly, David, Bryan, Brad, Craig, Chase, Daniel, Houston (deceased), Dillon, Hannah, Larry, and Alex.
Ellie is also survived by her sister, Joan Stewart; brother Dave Wilmot; and 15 great- grandchildren.
Born in Cleveland, she moved to Chardon in 1975.
Mom and dad loved their time at their summer getaway on Marblehead and their adventures cruising the Great Lakes. You could also find her at her grandchildren’s sporting events, where she helped the referees do their jobs. In late years, she enjoyed spending the winter months at her home on Pine Island, Fla., with her sister, Joan.
We will always remember her as a beautiful, strong-willed but tender mom who showed great passion for her family and country.
Ellie loved her country, current events, politics and talking about them. She loved life and was an inspiration to all lucky enough to know her.
Friends may join the family for a Celebration of Life to be held from 4-8 p.m. Aug. 2, 2023, at Generations Reception and Party Center, 12809 Chillicothe Road, Chester Township.
Mom’s favorite charities included St. Jude Hospital, Tunnel to Towers, Wounded Warrior Project and Cleveland Clinic Hospice. Please consider honoring her life with a contribution to your favorite charity.
