Enos Allen Detweiler
Enos Allen Detweiler went to be with God on Feb. 13, 2024.
He was born July 16, 1942, to the late Dan and Clara Detweiler in Troy Township. He graduated from Berkshire High School.
Enos went on to serve his country from 1966-1968 in the U.S. Army, serving in Korea. After serving our country, he went on to manage Burton Sheet Metal for 40-plus years, a family business started by his father Dan in 1957. He also managed Geauga Country Meats, which he purchased in 1989.
He was avid Cleveland sports and Ohio State football fan. He enjoyed golfing and ran Wednesday night golf leagues at three different golf courses in Geauga County. Enos also loved going to auctions every Monday for Geauga Farms.
Enos was a supporter of Cardinal Schools, Geauga County 4-H, Troy Township happenings and the Amish community.
Enos also felt compelled to dedicate his time toward public service and served on the Troy Township Zoning Commission as well as being a Troy Township Trustee for over 30 years.
Enos and Mary Jane were named Mr. and Mrs. Troy in 2021 in recognition of their support to the Troy community. He also sat on the board for MRDD several years.
He exemplified a man who worked hard, loved his family, and cared about his community. Anyone who knew Enos knew his big personality. You knew when Enos was in the room; he had memorable one-liners that won’t soon be forgotten.
