Holly Cormiea

Holly Cormiea, 54, of Hambden Township, Ohio, passed away peacefully Monday morning, Dec. 15, 2025, at Burton Healthcare Residence.

She was born in Euclid, Ohio, on Nov. 22, 1971, to the late Clarence and Elaine (nee Hunter) Cormiea.

Holly found her greatest joy in being with her family, especially when cooking for them and gathering everyone together. Nothing made her happier than having her beloved sons, Josh and Nick, their partners, Erica and Sabrina, and her treasured grandchildren, Conner and Holden, filling her home with laughter.

Holly considered it a privilege to care for her disabled brother, Mark, who shared a home with her. She embraced this role with love and devotion, reflecting the generous spirit that defined her life.

She loved the holidays and took great joy in decorating her home, transforming it into a warm and inviting place where everyone felt welcome.

Holly had a heart for the hurting and broken and opened her home to friends and even strangers who needed sanctuary, comfort and hugs. She was known for her kindness and her deep love for the elderly, always offering care, patience, and compassion to those around her.

Later in life, Holly reinvented herself by returning to school and earning her bachelor’s degree from Kent State University, a testament to her determination and strength.

Holly will be remembered for her open heart, her welcoming home and the love she so freely gave. She leaves behind a legacy of compassion, family, and strength that will continue to live on in all who knew and loved her.

Holly will be greatly missed by her children, Josh (Sabrina Vasko) Walczak and Nick (Erica Remington) Walczak; siblings, Mark Cormiea, Scott (Sharon) Cormiea and Lynn (Rob) Lax; and grandchildren, Conner and Holden.

She is preceded in death by her parents.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Bass Lake Lodge in Bass Lake Preserve, 11445 Lakeview Road, Munson Township, on Jan. 4, 2026, from 1-4 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests memorials be made in Holly’s honor, in care of Nick, via Venmo: @nick-walczak
