Lois A. Pflueger

Lois A. Pflueger, a longtime resident of the Chardon area, passed away peacefully on Nov. 4, 2025, at the age of 78.

Born on July 10, 1947, to Donald W and Shirley (nee Switzer) Pyle, Lois grew up in Northeast Ohio and made her home for 27 years in Chardon, Ohio, previously residing in Mentor-on-the-Lake, Ohio. She attended Lakeland Community College, where she cultivated her love for learning and creativity.

Lois had a lifelong passion for photography, capturing the beauty of everyday moments. Her work was featured in various local shows, reflecting her artistic eye and appreciation for nature and family.

She also found joy in creating a warm and welcoming home, especially when preparing meals for large family gatherings (especially using chicken) and her famous Thanksgiving meals.

Lois loved tending her yard and relaxing and fishing by her koi pond, though she was quick to joke that she never enjoyed doing laundry.

Above all, Lois cherished her family. She is survived by her devoted husband of nearly 60 years, Donald Pflueger, whom she married on Jan. 30, 1966, in Lyndhurst, Ohio. She was the loving mother of Gary (Kelli), of Painesville Township, Ohio, Richard, of Madison, Ohio, John, of Burton Village, Ohio, and the late Donald (Patricia), of Lyndhurst. She will also be dearly missed by her grandchildren, Colin (Dayanara), Kyle, Madeline, Zack, Evan, Ben, Anna and James, as well as her great-grandson, Jack.

Lois’s warmth, creativity and laughter will be remembered always by all who knew and loved her.

A visitation will be held at Burr Funeral Home, 116 South St., Chardon, Ohio, on Nov. 9, 2025, from 2-4 p.m., followed by a service. Interment will take place at Western Reserve Memorial Gardens, 11521 Chillicothe Road, Chester Township, on Nov. 10, 2025, at 10 a.m.
