Margaret Reiling
Margaret Reiling, age 93, passed away peacefully on July 29, 2025, surrounded by the love of her devoted family and her cherished husband of 73 years, Dr. Gilbert Reiling. Her life was a beautiful testament to warmth, kindness, and unwavering devotion to her family, faith, and home.
She was born om Feb. 17, 1932.
Margaret was best remembered for the simple yet profound joys she brought into the world: her legendary turkey dinners that brought generations to the same table, handwritten birthday cards that made each recipient feel special and her remarkable gift for hospitality that made everyone who entered her home feel deeply welcomed and loved.
She was the proud and loving mother of eight children: Mary, of Miami, Fla., Anne, of Corvallis, Ore., Stephen, of Ashland, Ore., Vincent (Vickie, deceased), of Pepper Pike, Ohio, Eileen (David), of Dallas, Texas, Louise, of Chagrin Falls, Ohio, Gilbert Jr., of Chardon, Ohio, and Margaret Goodman (Jim, deceased), of Warren, Ohio.
Her legacy continues through her beloved grandchildren: Max Reiling, Stephanie Graves, Forrest Reiling; Christina Woodfin (Jared), Elizabeth Fyffe (Cameron), Vincent and Kathleen Reiling; Kate Breitling, Kyle (Sharyn) Nagy, Zachery and Christopher (Gabriella) Smith. She was also blessed with great-grandchildren: Wilder and Kasper Reiling; Sacha Woodfin; Chase and Colin Nagy; and Garrett Graves, each of whom brought her immeasurable joy.
Margaret’s life was one of quiet grace and steady love. Her home was a haven of warmth, laughter and endless comfort—a place where faith was lived daily and family traditions were treasured. Her deep Catholic faith guided her life and nourished her spirit, bringing peace and strength throughout her many years.
A visitation for friends and family will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 6, 2025, from 10-11 a.m., at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 6850 Mayfield Road, Gates Mills, Ohio. A Funeral Mass celebrating Margaret’s life will follow at 11a.m., with interment at All Souls Cemetery in Chardon Township.
Margaret Reiling’s love will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate to know her. May she rest in eternal peace.
