Maria Przela
Maria (nee Urbanek) Przela, age 97, passed away on Sept. 7, 2023. She was born March 26, 1926.
Maria met the love of her life, Peter Przela, and they later married in 1946 and started a family.
Maria and Peter lived in Belgium, with their children, Richard and Maria “Valeta.” The family moved to the Cleveland area in 1959 and later to Burton.
Maria loved to cook for her family and friends, especially her tasty soups. She was a kind person who loved animals and caring for family. She adopted a stray cat named, Mimi, who became her close companion the last years of her life.
Maria enjoyed the outdoors and traveling with her daughter, Maria. She was a lifelong servant of the Lord and loved her Catholic faith.
Maria is survived by her daughter, Maria “Valeta” (Alan) Benander; grandchildren, Christopher, Amanda, Timothy and Dawn; great-grandchildren, Amber, April, Ashley, Meghan, Dominique, Kendra, Kayla and Kayden; and great-great-grandchild, Uzziah. She also leaves behind many others and will be greatly missed.
She is preceded by her loving husband, Peter; and son, Richard.
Family invites friends for Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Sept. 16, 2023, at St. Helen Catholic Church, 12060 Kinsman Road, Newbury Township. Visitation will be held before mass beginning at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at Western Reserve Memorial Gardens in Chester Township.
