Marie Jameson

Our beloved Marie Jameson, affectionally known as Marie by her loved ones, was called to her eternal rest on Nov. 29, 2025, passing peacefully in her sleep.

Born on Feb. 3, 1930, in Blairsville, Pa., to her parents, Henry and Elizabeth Ehser, Marie lived 95 beautiful years filled to the brim with love, laughter and a spirit that lifted everyone lucky enough to know her. She was always such a cheerful loving woman full of energy and was loved by many. She was a woman of strong faith and unwavering love for her family and friends.

Marie was the kind of woman whose quick wit and feisty spirit made her unforgettable. She had a gift for turning even the simplest conversation into a cherished memory, always leaving others with a smile, a laugh or a story they would carry with them long after she’d walked away. Marie loved sharing her stories—each one told with warmth and humor that made you feel like you were part of something special.

Her joy wasn’t loud or fleeting; it was the steady, comforting kind that wrapped gently around everyone near her. When Marie entered a room, it didn’t just brighten, it came alive. And when she laughed, it was impossible not to join her. Her humor was rooted in kindness, never sharp or unkind, but always offered with the hope of making someone’s day a little lighter, a little sweeter. Her laughter didn’t just echo, it settled into the heart, a reminder of the love and light she carried everywhere she went.

She never met a stranger. To Marie, every person was a potential friend, every moment a chance to share a smile. Her life was a testament to the power of leading with love, choosing joy and meeting the world with open arms.

Marie found great purpose in her years working at the Mentor Heisley Racquet Club, where she became affectionately known as “the greeter.” It wasn’t a title; it was who she was. She welcomed everyone with that radiant smile of hers and if she didn’t know someone, she made sure she soon would. She had a gift for making others feel seen, valued and loved. After retiring, she continued spreading that same warmth at the donut shop with her friends, where laughter was always plentiful and friendship was the daily special.

But the heart of Marie’s world was her family. Throughout her life, Marie formed deep bonds with her siblings, cherishing the time spent with her sister, Erika Sharp, and brother, Charles “Freddy” Ehser. She was a devoted mother to her daughter, Tina Baker; a beloved mother-in-law to Phil Baker; and the proudest, funniest, quick witted and feisty grandmother to her pride and joy, her grandchildren, Amber Roark, Russell Baker and Noelle Baker.

Her humor, quick wit and charm live on beautifully in her great-grandchildren, Cayden, Isabelle, and Jameson Roark, who will grow up carrying her legacy of laughter and love in their hearts. She had many nieces and nephews whom she loved deeply and enjoyed spending time with.

Marie was preceded in death by her doting husband, Joseph Jameson, who was surely waiting to catch her with open arms and probably a chuckle at the pearly gates. She also joins her parents, Henry George and Elizabeth Ehser; her sister, Erika Sharp; and her brother, Charles Ehser, who have likely been missing her.

A woman of steadfast faith, Marie’s Catholic upbringing shaped her generosity, compassion and humility. She lived her beliefs quietly but powerfully, through kindness, through service and through boundless love.

Describing Marie as loving, kind and friendly is like saying the sky is blue—it’s just a fact. But those words only scratch the surface of the joy she brought into the world. Marie’s life was a masterclass in making the best of every situation, finding humor in the everyday and spreading warmth wherever she went.

She showed us how to find joy in ordinary days, how to laugh through life’s challenges and how to offer kindness freely, with no expectation in return. Her life was a beautiful reminder that the greatest legacy we can leave is the love we plant in others.

Marie’s family takes solace in knowing that she lived a full and meaningful life, surrounded by those she loved and who loved her in return. Her memory will be cherished, her lessons remembered and her love felt, always.

As we reflect on Marie’s life, we are reminded of the impact one person can have on the lives of many. Rest in peace, dear Marie, knowing that your legacy will endure, your light will continue to shine in every life you touched. Your love will echo in every smile you inspired. And your legacy—joyful, tender and full of grace—will live on forever.
