Mary Ann Skiba

Mary Ann Skiba passed away peacefully at home on Dec. 4, 2025, at 89 years old. She was born on Nov. 1, 1936.

Mary Ann, a lifelong resident of Chardon, Ohio, was a treasured daughter to Kazmer and Sophie Skiba and sister to Delores (Gene) Moody and Frances (Bill) Hupp. She played a pivotal role in the lives of her nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and great-great-nieces and nephews, all of whom she loved as if they were her own.

For 40 incredible years, Mary Ann dedicated her professional life to caring for mothers and newborns in the OB department at Geauga Hospital.

Mary Ann found joy in the simple pleasures of gardening and being outdoors. Her hands, often soiled with earth, cultivated not just plants but also the seeds of friendship and community. She shared her love for travel with family and friends, exploring new places and creating memories that would last a lifetime.

As we bid farewell to Mary Ann Skiba, we celebrate a life beautifully lived and a soul that enriched the lives of many. Though she may be gone from our sight, her spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those who were blessed to know her.

A visitation will be held on Friday, Jan. 16, 2026, from 5-7 p.m., at Burr Funeral Home, 116 South St., Chardon, followed by a memorial mass on Saturday, Jan. 17, 2026, at 11 a.m., at the Church of St. Mary, 401 North St., Chardon.
