Nancy W. Lane
Nancy W. Lane, age 87, passed away on Dec. 17, 2024.
She was the self-proclaimed super perfect mother of David Johnson (Vicki), of Destin, Fla., Michael Johnson, of Warren, Steven Johnson, of Middlefield, Jane Anagnostos (Peter), of Cleveland Heights, and Susan Johnson, of Middlefield.
She was grandmother to Robert, Ken, Steven, Ashley, Emily and Kate; and great-grandmother to Melia, Max, Ollie, Lincoln and River.
Nancy was preceded in death by her husbands, Tom W. Johnson and Dr. Thomas Lane; and a brother, Alan R. Weaver.
Nancy was born on April 3, 1937, in Waterbury, Conn., to the late Gordon and Jessie Weaver. While a teenager, her family moved to Ohio, where Nancy married and raised her family in Middlefield.
Nancy was a dedicated homemaker throughout her life. She attended Centenary University in Hackettstown, N.J., and Kent State University.
A second marriage brought her back to Connecticut and then to a farm in Sherburne, N.Y. She returned to Middlefield in 2003.
Nancy had a deep love for animals, having raised and been supported by her five Seeing Eye guide dogs. She was also an avid reader and enjoyed listening to audiobooks. Her resilience and compassionate nature will always be remembered by those who knew her.
