Patricia Ann Gingerich

Patricia Ann Gingerich (nee Poe), 75, of Middlefield, Ohio, passed away peacefully Sunday afternoon, Oct. 19, 2025, at the David Simpson Hospice House in Cleveland, Ohio, while surrounded by her family.

She was born in Painesville, Ohio, on Sept. 29, 1950, to the late Richard and Alice (nee Martin) Poe. Pat later married her best friend and love of her life, John A. Gingerich, on March 8, 1986.

Pat was a strong advocate for the welfare of children, having been a foster mother a Court-Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) volunteer in Geauga County, and providing a safe, welcoming home for children who needed a short or long-term place to stay.

Pat will be sorely missed by her loving husband of 39 years, John; children, Amy Gingerich, Amanda (Travis) Coleman, James (Sarah Serafin) Gingerich, Cassandra Gingerich; grandchildren, Grace, Luke, Ben and Olivia; siblings, Randy Poe, Mary Jane Behun, Kevin (Jeanette) Poe; Sandra Serwatka, and Charles Poe; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents; and brothers Richard, James and Robert.

Family and friends will be received from 4-7 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 24, 2025, at Best Funeral Home, 15809 Madison Road, Middlefield, Ohio. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 25, 2025, at the funeral home, officiated by Pastors Kevin Kumher and Bruce Kumher.

A private interment will be held at a later date.
