Richard M. Hallstrom
Richard M. Hallstrom, age 83, formally of Mantua, passed away on Aug. 31, 2023, at the Inn at the Pines in Hiram.
He was born on June 29, 1940, in Cleveland, the son of Howard W. Hallstrom and Freena L. Riley.
Richard married to Shirley (Huff) Hallstrom on March 7, 1959.
He retired after 33 years of service as the police chief for Russell Township.
Richard enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his children Barbara (Larry Hagan) Reeder, of Rock Creek, Kenneth (Jackie) Hallstrom, of Parkman Township, Holly (Albert) Quadros, of Orwell; brother, Bob (Michelle) Hallstrom, of Hudson, Fla.; sister, Darcy (Joe) Nicholosi, of Port Charlotte, Fla.; grandchildren, Heather, Bill, Melanie and Katie Hallstrom, Mandi and Mindi Conroy, Kristie Hallstrom, and Lukas and Dean Quadros; 18 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Shirley (Huff) Hallstrom; parents, Howard (Jeanne) Hallstrom, Freena (Jim) Porter; and daughter Deborah Conroy.
A memorial service officiated by Ardene Baumgardner will take place at Riverview Memorial Park, 8356 Fairmount Road, Russell Township, on Saturday, Sept. 16, 2023, at 2:30 p.m.
