Robert Bruce Petersen Jr.
Robert Bruce “Bob” Petersen Jr., age 60, died unexpectedly on Dec. 9, 2023, in Irvine, Calif.
Born on July 9, 1963, Bob has been a resident of Claridon Township for many years.
On Dec. 1, 2021, Bob and three partners purchased the former Bass Lake Tavern, to then become The Lodge at Bass Lake. Prior to that, he was the manager of The Welshfield Inn in Troy Township.
Bob was an avid golfer. He enjoyed watching sports and traveling. He very much loved spending time with his furry friends, Kona and Mookey.
Bob is survived by his mother, Ernestine “Bessie” Petersen; sister, Amy Petersen; niece Makynzie Horvath; and nephews, Justin and Ian Horvath.
He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Bruce Petersen Sr.; and niece Ashlyn Horvath.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2024, from 2-5 p.m., at Burr Funeral Home, 116 South St., Chardon.
A private family burial will be held.
