Robert Henry Chorman
HAMBDEN TWP. – Robert “Bob” Henry Chorman, age 69, of Hambden Township, peacefully passed away at his home on July 30, 2022, surrounded by his family.
He was born Sept. 8, 1952, to Fred and Betty (nee Stokes) Chorman, in Cleveland.
Robert married Laura Ann Renard on Aug. 2, 1980, in Chagrin Falls. They would have celebrated 42 happy years together earlier this month.
Bob was a mechanical and civil engineer. He worked for ZEN/American Mine Door, where he designed and built ventilation doors for the mining industry for 20 years, retiring in October 2021.
He enjoyed camping, fishing and being outdoors tinkering around his property. He especially loved traveling to Ontario and the Outer Banks, and spending time with his family.
One of his favorite travels was when he and Laura took a once-in-a-lifetime trip out west by train and primitively camped through the national parks.
He is survived by his wife, Laura, of Hambden; daughter, Jamie (Paul) Szucs, of Montville Township; granddaughter, Elliana Grace Liberty Szucs; twin brother, Bill (Marilyn) Chorman, of Painesville Township; sister Sue (Jerry) Harbak, of Middle Bass Island, Ohio; favorite aunt, Jeanne Chorman, of Sarasota, Fla.; and many nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by his parents; son, Bert; brother Jim; and sister Nancy.
Private family services were held.
He was interred at the Hambden Township Cemetery.
Due to his love of rescued animals, the family suggests donations be made in his memory to the Geauga Humane Society’s Rescue Village, 15463 Chillicothe Road, Novelty, OH 44072.
