Scott K. Kirk

Scott “Scotty” K. Kirk, age 46, of Munson Township, passed away peacefully at his home on Aug. 30, 2025.

Born Jan. 5, 1979, in Claridon Township, Scott was a graduate of West Geauga High School in Chester Township.

From an early age, he had a gift for understanding how things worked and could fix just about anything. A talented mechanic, Scott especially loved tinkering with engines and chainsaws, always finding joy in making something run again.

Scott was happiest outdoors—splitting firewood, working with cars or casting a line while fishing. He had a deep love for animals, especially his beloved dogs, who were constant companions. He also cherished the simple moments in life, like taking long drives with his mom or spending time with his brother, to whom he was very close.

He will be deeply missed by his mother, Colleen (John Mugnano) Kirk-Mugnano, of Highland Heights; brother, William (Jessica) Kirk, of Chardon; nieces, BreAnna (fiancé Tommy Hornyak) Kirk, Nora Kirk, Evelyn Kirk; aunt, Sheila Finnerty; step-brother, John (Kendra) Mugnano Jr., of Tennessee; step-sister, Michelle (Tom) Fornadel, of Solon; and step-nephews, Johnny and Joey Mugnano, and Timothy, Andrew and James Fornadel.

In honor of Scott’s love for animals, the family suggests donations be made to Rescue Village, 15463 Chillicothe Road, Novelty, OH 44072 or go to www.give.rescuevillage.org.

Visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday, Sept. 11, 2025, from 5-7 p.m., at Burr Funeral Home, 116 South St., Chardon. A memorial service will immediately follow at 7 p.m.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Burr Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 116 South St., Chardon. Online condolences and memories may be shared at www.burrservice.com.
