Shirley Joanne Trivison
Shirley Joanne Trivison (nee Allison), age 89, died after a long illness on Tuesday, Jan. 30, 2024, in Chardon.
Shirley resided in Chardon with her family since the mid 1950s. She was the daughter of the late Edwin F. and Margaret (nee Cates) Allison.
Shirley and her husband of 70 years, Louis Trivison, raised their family in Chardon, where she worked first as a teacher at the Metzenbaum Opportunity School in its initial years, then as a teacher’s aide in the Chardon school system, and finally as a dental assistant with Dr. James Caine until her retirement.
Shirley was one of the founding members of St. Luke Episcopal Church, where she remained active until her death.
Shirley was a longtime volunteer for AFS Intercultural Exchange program in Chardon. She and her family hosted many foreign exchange students over the years.
Survivors include her husband, Louis Trivison; daughters Peg (Elliot) Thompson, of Garrettsville, and Kate (Gary) Witosky, of Chardon; son, Bill Trivison, of Chardon; and eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by her daughter Pat Stukey.
The family would like to express their gratitude to those who provided care to Shirley over the last month of her life, including the staff at University Hospitals Geauga Medical Center and Mapleview Country Villa.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 10, 2024, at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, 11519 Wilson Mills Road, Chardon.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggested a memorial donation to St. Luke Episcopal Church, P.O. Box 244, Chardon, OH 44024.
