Shirley Krakora
Shirley Krakora, age 88, of Munson Township, peacefully passed away at her home surrounded by her family on Sept. 5, 2023.
Born April 4, 1935, to Clifford and Dessie (nee Kruis) Lender, in Utahville, Pa.
She married James C. Krakora, on Aug. 15, 1970, in Maple Heights. He preceded her in death on Nov. 29, 2007.
Shirley was the first female volunteer firefighter for Munson Township.
She loved to travel and enjoyed going to the library as she loved reading. She was actually a speed reader, averaging 10 books a week, hundreds of books a year. She was a wonderful baker and cook, making her own applesauce among other baked goods.
Shirley was active at the clubhouse and Red Hat Society at her winter home in Florida. She loved playing cards and spending time with friends and family. She especially enjoyed going to Disney World with her family.
Shirley is survived by her children, Diane (Theodore) Jewell, of Munson Township, John (Christine) Ferrato, of Scranton, Pa., Tracy (James) Cohn, of Munson, and James M. (Dina) Krakora, of Munson; grandchildren, Robert (Katie) Jewell, Michael (Caitlin) Jewell, Nathan (Megan) Jewell, Daniel Ferrato, Eric Cohn, Andrew Cohn, Jacob Krakora, Thomas Krakora and Nicole Krakora; great-grandchildren, Carter Jewell, Lorelei Jewell, Jacqueline Jewell and Charlie Jewell; sister Katherine Pearce, of Glen Campbell, Pa.; niece, Linda (Paul) Peroni, of Willoughby; and nephew, Richard (Susan) Lender, of Willoughby.
She was loved and will be missed by many.
Preceded in death by her parents; husband; and siblings Delores Jones and Donald Lender.
A graveside service was held.
