Sue is survived by her two sons, Kevin Ashworth, and wife Terri, of York, Pa., and Kyle Ashworth and wife Sarah, of Cherry Hill, N.J.; her four grandchildren, Elizabeth, Nolan, Luke and Caleb Ashworth; and her companion, Armand Richard.

Born April 18, 1954, in Garfield Heights, Ohio, Sue was the daughter of the late Wallace Vincent Canfield and Marguerite Mae Shadley Canfield and was preceded in death by her husband, Larry Dale Ashworth, and three siblings, Marguerite Jean Springer Hamko, Wallace Vincent Canfield Jr. and Ronald Allen Canfield.

In 2014, Sue retired from Cleveland County Schools after 20 years of service. In 2019, she received the North Carolina Governor’s Award for Volunteer Service in recognition of her distinguished service with Hospice.

Sue loved being outside, working in her yard, swimming in her pool and golfing. For several years, she was active playing pickleball at the YMCA and softball with the “Silver Bells” senior team.

Her greatest joy was being “Grandma Sue” and spending time with her grandchildren.
