William C. Angstrom

William “Bill” C. Angstrom, age 80, passed peacefully to be with God on Sept. 17, 2020, after a courageous three year battle with esophageal cancer.

Bill grew up in North Bloomfield and graduated from Burton High School. He then went on to earn a Bachelor’s Degree from The Ohio State University in Wildlife Management, and onto Cuyahoga Community College to study computers. He made a career as a systems analyst/programmer.

During his entire lifetime he was an avid wood craftsman, traveler and fisherman. His favorite fishing trips were to Alaska, one trip in particular with his lifelong best friend John Shadduck.

In addition to fishing, Bill loved bluegrass music, the outdoors, nature and wildlife. He had a strong work ethic and an innate ability to engineer anything.

He is preceded in death by his beloved grandmother, Nell Fenselon; parents, Harold Sr. and Mabel Angstrom; and in-laws, Ralph and Alta Randles.

Bill leaves behind his cherished wife of 60-plus years, Linda (nee Randles) Angstrom; son, William R. Angstrom, of Chagrin Falls; daughter, Connie (Angstrom) Hanzlik; and son-in-law, Michael Hanzlik, of Clearwater, Fla.

He also leaves behind his brother, Harold “Bud” Angstrom, of Andover; sister, Nancy Rodgers, of North Bloomfield; and his many beloved nieces and nephews.

Bill and his immediate family are so very thankful for all the love, support and prayers bestowed upon all of us during his illness.

Due to COVID-19, the memorial service will be held at a later date to be determined.

In lieu of flowers, it was Bill’s wish that donations be made to either The First Congregational Church of Claridon,13942 Mayfield Road, Huntsburg, OH 44046 (www.claridoncongregational.com); or to North Bloomfield Historical Society, P.O. Box 94, North Bloomfield, OH 44450 (www.bloomfieldohiohistory.org).
