2nd- Graders Make Learning Fun

Second graders at Burton Elementary School are combined reading, writing, math and science to learn about living things. A big thanks goes out to community friends who made learning a lot of fun.

Thank you to Geauga Park District for a great field trip to Frohring Meadow where students were able to release and search for butterflies. Thank you, Mr. Mann, for helping students keep their plants growing in the school greenhouse. Some plants are now more than 20 centimeters tall. Thank you to Gail Prunty, of Geauga Soil and Water Conservation District, for visiting the school to share the “Beneficial Bats” program. Thanks to PTO for purchasing a school membership to The Cleveland Natural History Museum. The membership allowed teachers and students to borrow great hands-on materials such as animal skulls and pelts. A big thanks also goes out to Mrs. Queen for transporting all the museum materials for the classes. All-in-all the students had a wonderful time learning about living things.
