Ledgemont Staff Delivers Home Learning Bags
Late last week, kindergarten teachers Michelle Sivillo and Sue Reno along with interim Principal Joy Reed hand delivered “learning bags” to the building’s youngest students so that they would have their needed instructional resources. The deliveries were made on April 10 and 11, a Saturday, demonstrating the lengths to which Berkshire staff will go ensure proper materials getting into the hands of students.
In additional to the learning tools, some holiday treats were included for added fun and special thoughtfulness. They included Easter treats for the kindergarten and their siblings. The teachers wore Easter decorated masks as part of their Easter Bunny costume. They alerted parents through class Dojo messages as they were near and then surprised each student.
Thank you to the inspired instructors at Ledgemont for going above and beyond to help with their students’ respective educations.
Art Projects Share Hope at Hospitals
Berkshire High and Junior High School art students have found a way to continue their creative expressions while helping those most in need during the school closure period. As part of a community art project, messages of hope were created by students and shared with those who may be spending a little extra time in the care of hospitals, nursing homes and other health facilities.
The idea was for students to share messages of gratitude to those serving during this unprecedented period. These images will also be shared with local nursing homes as a way of uplifting their residents’ spirits.
The junior and senior high school art students created an inspirational artwork to share with the community in the medium of their choice. The project gave a real-life experience to creating artwork with meaning or a purpose and it also gave the students the freedom to express themselves in a way that suits their interests, too. The art students have been inspired by art teacher Amy Alvord. Congratulations to everyone involved in helping make the days of others in the community a little brighter.
