Students Visit Instrument Factory
A handful of junior and senior band students from Berkshire had the opportunity to tour the Conn-Selmer Eastlake Facility on April 27. The factory, one of only a few in the United States, produces a number of band instruments, almost completely by hand. Students saw first-hand how a number of band instruments are built, from raw material to finished product. There are even a number of Berkshire students who play instruments that come from this factory. The tour gave them a new perspective on musical instruments and showed them different career opportunities within the music industry.
