Morning Of Remembrance
The dedicated staff at Chagrin Falls Schools and their families came together on Dec. 2 at the Evergreen Hill Cemetery in a heartfelt act of service and tribute. Led by Gurney Elementary teacher Courtney Mooney and in partnership with Wreaths of America, the staff and their families honored the legacy of Chagrin’s local heroes.
In an embodiment of the district’s November theme “Together We Honor,” the team meticulously located veterans’ graves using a map crafted by Chagrin Hardware. Each grave was marked with a flag where a wreath will be placed, paying respect to those who made the ultimate sacrifice for this country.
“This service project is not just a gesture, but a reflection of our community’s spirit and gratitude,” said Superintendent Jennifer Penczarski.
While this event was about service, Chagrin Falls Schools also invites the community to join them in a formal ceremony on Dec. 16 at noon to continue honoring these veterans. The ceremony, open to all, will include the placement of wreaths on the marked graves.
“Let’s come together once more to shine a light on their bravery and our unity,” said Dr. Penczarski.
CFIS Tigers of the Month
The Chagrin Falls Intermediate School Tigers of the Month are for students who show consistent behaviors. It doesn’t mean the student has to be the best behaved or have the highest grades. The award is for students who continually try to do their best. They may make mistakes, but are approaching their school experience with a “YET” mindset. This month, teachers have recognized students who demonstrate coping skills and mindfulness in a variety of ways.
Congratulations: Kate Hively, Gino Wetzel, Luke Bennett, Ava Bockmuller, Patrick Quigg, Jayden Remaley, Rachel Schaffer, Madeline Burtnett, Enzo Parrino, Claire Beatty, Evelyn Klusmann, Kyle Thompson, Cole Smith, Molly Quigg, Harrison Kleid, Tyson McGary, Wrenn Warren, Emma Uehlinger and Benson Wyville.
Revolutionizing Anatomy Education
In a major stride toward advanced anatomy and physiology education, teacher Lisa Salyers, fueled by dedication and hard work, has successfully secured a cutting-edge Anatomage Table for Chagrin Falls High School’s juniors and seniors. The achievement is the culmination of years of grant writing and collaboration with the Chagrin Falls Educational Foundation.
The Anatomage Table stands as the world’s most advanced 3D anatomy visualization and virtual dissection tool. Already embraced by leading medical schools, the remarkable technology promises an unprecedented learning experience.
Since its recent arrival, students at Chagrin Falls High School have immersed themselves in the intricacies of human anatomy, starting with the study of bones in the skull. The Anatomage Table has transformed how the students learn, bringing anatomy to life like never before.
Chagrin Falls High School now stands proudly among a select few high schools in the state offering this cutting-edge learning opportunity. The acquisition perfectly aligns with the school’s overarching vision of inspiring growth and thriving in education.
Many thanks to Mrs. Salyers for her unwavering commitment to enriching student learning experiences. Her dedication continues to elevate the school as a beacon of educational excellence, ensuring that Chagrin Falls High School remains at the forefront of innovative and impactful education.
