Tigers of the Semester
The Tigers of the Semester Award is presented to students who exemplify a positive attitude, work ethic, achievement in the classroom and service to fellow students and teachers at Chagrin Falls High School. Teachers nominate one student from their classes that impressed them with their achievement, attitude, hard work, willingness to help others and growth during the first half of the year. The award program is sponsored by Interact Club and advisors Karen Sindelar and Janet Coriell organized the interactive presentation that featured personalized messages from each teacher who nominated a student.
Tigers of the Fall Semester of the 2022-23 school year are Brianna Baioni, Corrina Barth, Noah Beatty, Shelby Brett, Liam Butler, Jaycee De La Mare-Inscore, Mila Gresh, Donny Hardy, Sophie Hill, Claire Hoelzel, Mary Ann Hoelzel, Logan Holmes, Harrison Horvath, Allie Jones, Jack Keegan, Marley Metzger, Chloe Moorman, Quinn Purnhagen, Gracie Ryan, Alexandra Scharpf, Valerie Spieth, Will Stinson, Amelia Strawn, Lilly Stukus, Alethea Svette, Cayden Vilneff, Isabella Wells, Greta Westropp and Tatum Yanchar.
“During the Tiger of the Semester program, our teachers recognized many amazing students who continually stand out as great students and wonderful people,” said Principal Mike Janatovich. “It truly makes me proud to see the many things our students accomplish inside and outside the classroom and their positive impact on our entire school community.”
Instructional Technology Coach Receives Ignite Award
Molly Klodor, instructional technology coach for Chagrin Falls Schools, received the Ignite Award presented by ITIP (Instructional Technology Integration Partnership) Ohio at this year’s Ohio Educational Technology Conference in Columbus.
Klodor was nominated by Mike Daugherty, director of technology, and Angie Jameson, library media specialist.
The nomination read “Outstanding educators ignite a passion for learning in all they encounter. Nothing could be more true of Molly Klodor, our technology coach. When Molly started in our district less than two years ago, she stepped into a position vacated by a well-loved, veteran staff member who had been responsible for significant growth in the district’s integration of technology over the previous years. Coming into that position it would have been easy to ease into what existed and just keep everything afloat. But that isn’t Molly. Molly has vision, Molly has compassion, Molly is creative, and Molly is approachable and accountable. All of these qualities ignite energy in the students and staff members within our district.”
Molly Klodor has made a tremendous impact on instruction in Chagrin Falls. Her approachable demeanor creates a trusted space where ideas or issues can be discussed. She excels at listening to staff and students; then developing creative, collaborative, realistic tech solutions to serve the need.
Molly also leads by example. She shares her knowledge and experience through mentorship activities with other technology coaches. Additionally, Molly influences her colleagues by staying up-to-date on the latest developments and trends in edtech. Doing this helps to keep her skill set relevant and forward-thinking and inspires others to do the same. Further, Mrs. Klodor takes the time to collaborate with teachers when they are planning to use new technology and helps them to make intentional choices related to their specific course objectives. Molly does not focus on the technology itself, she always keeps the focus student and learning-centered.
The Instructional Technology Integration Partnership of Ohio (ITIP Ohio) is a non-profit organization created for the purpose of further promoting the use of instructional technologies in Ohio’s classrooms. ITIP Ohio works closely with a variety of statewide educational agencies including the Ohio Department of Education, the Ohio Board of Regents and the Ohio Educational Technology Conference to offer a wide variety of professional development opportunities.
