Last week NDCL students in family and consumer science teacher Rachel Barlage’s cooking classes competed in their own version of “Chopped,” the popular reality TV show that pits chefs against each other for the chance to win cash prizes.

Students sought to impress faculty judges with dishes that included chicken parmigiana, fettuccine alfredo with chicken, spaghetti marinara, cinnamon swirl French toast, apple cinnamon muffins and s’mores cupcakes.

Golfers Head to States

The entire school community spilled out onto the NDCL campus the afternoon of Oct. 13 for NDCL’s first-ever outdoor clap-out to send off the golf team to the OHSAA Division II State Tournament in Columbus.

To allow for safe physical distancing because of the pandemic, NDCL moved the traditional corridor clap-out outside. Mother Nature cooperated with an absolutely gorgeous autumn afternoon.

Seniors Zander Gibson, Andrew Perovsek and Devon Skufca joined sophomores Ryley Stefanek and Ben Daher for a golf-cart ride down the hill to the applause of students and faculty, who lined Notre Dame Drive from Lion Stadium to the west parking lot.
