Recorder Concert

This fall, third-graders began to learn how to play the recorder. The instrument lays the foundation for further musical studies. On Jan. 16, they put on a lovely recorder concert. The concert gave the students the opportunity to show how they have grown in their musical abilities. Thank you to Sister Mary Donnalee Resar, SND, for her dedicated work with the students.

Geologic History Timelines

The Earth has changed dramatically over a history that spans nearly 4.6 billion years. Such large spans of time are difficult for humans to comprehend. Compared to the span of the Earth’s history, a human lifetime is very short. Eighth-grade students had the opportunity to grasp the vastness of how long it has taken for Earth to form according to God’s plan.

Using math skills, students came up with a reasonable scale to represent virtually all of geologic time on Earth, including significant events in the development of life on Earth as well as recent human events.

Bringing Joy to the Sisters of Notre Dame

Students in the enrichment classes recently spent time doing a service project to share joy with the Sisters of Notre Dame. The children designed their own God is Good placemats that were given to sisters in the healthcare unit.
