Hailey Karban, Grace Legan, Bailey Rice, Nathan Galante, Lauren McGraw, Ryley Stefanek, Jonathan Ratka, Jack Gaugler, Ryan Shemitz, Marco Shvorob, Brian Bates and Ryan Callahan participated in the National History Day Regional Competition at Youngstown State University.

National History Day Competition

Hailey Karban, Grace Legan, Bailey Rice, Nathan Galante, Lauren McGraw, Ryley Stefanek, Jonathan Ratka, Jack Gaugler, Ryan Shemitz, Marco Shvorob, Brian Bates and Ryan Callahan participated in the National History Day Regional Competition at Youngstown State University. They chose historical topics that related to the theme, “Triumph and Tragedy.”

There were at least 13 different schools represented and over 100 entries. Nine NDES students will be moving on to the state competition at Ohio Wesleyan University on April 27.

8th-Graders Take On the Capital

Eighth-graders enjoyed their Washington, D.C., trip. Students began their experience with a visit to the Basilica of the Shrine of the Immaculate Conception, a visit to the Iwo Jima Memorial and then Arlington National Cemetery, followed by a visit tothe Capitol Building, where they met with Congressman David Joyce.
