The second-grade students in NDES’ Challenge Program have been enriching their reading, writing, creativity and public speaking skills by participating in an ELA unit called Fraidy Zoo. The students read the story for comprehension and then retold the story in their own words to the preschool students.

It has been a special week for the preschool and kindergarten students as they spent time with the Sisters of Notre Dame and the residents of Notre Dame Village. The children spread some Halloween cheer as they played games, shared in crafts, sang songs and trick-or-treated through the halls.

Seventh-graders enjoyed their photography trip to the West Side Market. Students explored the market by taking pictures and then watched a glass blowing demonstration at the Glass Bubble Project. The trip ended with a sweet treat from Mitchell’s ice cream.
