Ancient Egypt Study
Mrs. Stefancin’s sixth-grade students are studying Ancient Egypt. To further their understanding of the burial practices of pharaohs, students applied their knowledge of the scientific process to mummify apples.
Using balance weights and scales from STEM class, the children collaborated in groups to measure and weigh their “mummies.” They will then use empirical evidence to record findings and changes every two weeks. They are also comparing the experience with how effective the procedure was in ancient Egyptian times.
Christmas Campout
Students in preschool through grade three enjoyed decorating cookies, creating crafts, playing games and watching Christmas movies during their Christmas campout. They had fun wearing their pajamas and bringing their favorite blanket for the movies.
