Pillow Outreach Activity
The eighth-graders took a break from books and set out on the process of learning how to sew in religion and health. “Ora et labora,” or work and pray, is a phrase they learned earlier in the year – work can be prayer if people are intentional in what they do and how they do it.
As a class, students decided to sew pillows with hearts on them to give to the Sisters of Notre Dame. The pillows were made to remind the Sisters that the students think about them often and are united in love. As they worked, they prayed for all of the Sisters of Notre Dame.
Students wrote letters to share a little about themselves and to ask the Sisters some questions about their lives. In response, some of the sisters have written back to students. It is nice to stay connected even in these times of separation during the pandemic.
