Blue Ribbon Award
On Oct. 3, the entire Notre Dame Schools community celebrated NDCL’s National Blue Ribbon Award with a Blue Ribbon Bonanza. A sea of Blue Ribbon T-shirts could be seen as the NDES community walked down the hill to join NDCL students and staff as together they streamed into Lion Stadium for a Notre Dame Schools’ group photo that spelled out the word LIONS.
NDES was recognized with the Blue Ribbon Award in 2014. Together, NDES and NDCL now form a Blue Ribbon campus. The event was complete with many blue-themed treats, including Blue Moon ice cream.
Since its inception in 1982, the Blue Ribbon Award has become a trademark of excellence and symbol of quality recognized throughout the United States. To achieve this honor, a school must demonstrate superior academic performance that ranks in the top 15% of all schools nationwide. In a detailed and competitive application process, Blue Ribbon Schools must also distinguish themselves on other key factors associated with school success, including teacher expertise, rigorous curricula, vibrant school culture, strong parent and community engagement, and visionary leadership. Both NDES and NDCL are Blue Ribbon Proud!
