St. Helen School kindergartners enjoyed a trip to Patterson’s Fruit Farm Market and Fall Fest on Sept. 18. They learned about how they grow, store and use apples at the farm and market. They enjoyed a special apple treat while having a surprise chat with Johnny Appleseed himself. They were so excited to hear from him talk about his many adventures in the wilderness.
Retreat Day
St. Helen School had a retreat day on Sept. 14, the feast of the Holy Cross. St. Helen is the patron saint of the school and church. She was a roman empress who is most well known for her discovery of the true cross.
The students started the day celebrating mass together followed by a special presentation about St. Helen and then participated in activities centered on the cross and God’s transforming love for us. The retreat ended with a beautiful Eucharist procession around the school.
