Parent Education Series
Parents in the West Geauga Local Schools have been invited to participate in a parent education series to provide ongoing education and support for families. The sessions are designed to increase awareness of opportunities for students as well as assist parents with today’s challenges. They focus on topics including technology tools and tips for parents, social/emotional needs and resources and cyber safety.
The first session in the three-part series was conducted on Nov. 5. Two additional sessions will be on Nov. 12 and 19. Amy Davis, director of pupil personnel, and Dr. Nancy Benincasa, assistant superintendent, are joined by panelists from the ESC of the Western Reserve School-Community Forum, Ravenwood and Lake-Geauga Computer Association on the sessions.

Fall Athletics Livestreamed
The fall athletic stands were limited to two fans for each athlete. To accommodate the fan base, the West Geauga Schools livestreamed all home athletic events and the playoffs. The district used the technology to stream the games on its YouTube channel.
Thousands of fans were able to view the games live and they have been recorded and archived on the channel to be watched in the future. Students and community members assisted with the broadcasts as announcers and camera operators. The format will likely be used once the crowds are back to full capacity.
Girls Soccer Has Great Season
The West Geauga High School girls soccer team ended the season as district champions. The Lady Wolverines have six graduating seniors and many returning starters and contributors looking forward to next year. The fine group of young women has represented the West Geauga Local Schools with class and athletic excellence. West G wishes its senior student-athletes good luck.
