West Geauga High School senior Amelia Prexta is Chesterland Rotary Club’s January Student of the Month. She is a member of the Interact Club and participates in a variety of school activities. Amelia is in the process of choosing a college to attend in the fall. Her mother, Krista, joined her at the Rotary meeting on Jan. 29.
Kiwanis Club STEM Fair
Students at West Geauga Local Schools participated in the Kiwanis Club of West Geauga’s annual STEM Fair on Jan. 18 at West Geauga Middle School. In addition to individual projects displayed, students participated in a “Junk Box War,” “How Do I Fare” and a mathematics competition.
WGHS Earns “Overall A”
The Ohio Department of Education has awarded West Geauga High School the “Overall A” award for the 2018-19 school year. The accolade is awarded to schools in the State of Ohio that have an overall summative grade of “A” on the 2019 Ohio School Report Card.
Only 209 school buildings out of over 3,000 schools in the state received the award this year. West Geauga High School also received the “Momentum” award for greater than expected academic gains as demonstrated on the State Report Card.
