Several players on the West Geauga varsity girls basketball team visited Geauga West Library to read books about basketball to a group of students. MJ Thomsen, Meghan Zebrowski, Nicola Ehrbar and Rae Ehrbar also demonstrated shooting and dribbling techniques for the children. They demonstrated their love for reading at a great event for the kids!
March is Youth Art Month
The Akron Art Museum will host one of several exhibitions in the state and region to celebrate and showcase the talent of Ohio’s young people. The Akron Art Museum Youth Art Month Exhibit, sponsored by the Ohio Art Education Association and Kent State University, will be held at the Akron Art Museum. It will begin March 10 and close with a reception on March 15 from 12-2 p.m.
UH Donates Defibrillators to West Geauga
University Hospitals Geauga Medical Center has donated seven automatic electric defibrillators (AED) to West Geauga Local Schools in February. The life-saving devices will be placed near the gymnasiums of the high school and middle school.
Dr. Donald DeCarlo, president of UH Geauga, presented the devices to the West Geauga Board of Education on Feb. 24. The generous donation of equipment valued at over $15,000 will be complemented by training in CPR and Stop the Bleed for the staff at West Geauga Local Schools.
