West Geauga Local Schools kindergarten and new student registration for the 2021-22 school year has begun.

Writing with a Purpose
Third-graders in Mrs. Gwen Cerny’s classroom wrote persuasive essays as a part of their English/language arts activities. The students invited West Geauga Superintendent Rich Markwardt to their class to listen to essays in favor of reopening the playgrounds, which have been closed to student use during the pandemic. Dr. Markwardt listened attentively and shared with students a number of safety factors associated with the decision. The students’ letters were quite convincing and Dr. Markwardt is considering their request.
