WGHS Food Drive

West Geauga High School students and staff raised over $2,600 of monetary donations, along with over 900 cans of food for the Greater Cleveland Food Bank. The generous donation will help many families during the holiday season. Thank you to the Interact Club for organizing the fundraiser.

Thanksgiving Baskets

Lindsey Elementary School participated in the Michelle’s Wish Foundation Baskets of Love program during the Thanksgiving season. Each class filled a basket with the essentials for a bountiful Thanksgiving feast. Thanks to the generosity of students and their families, 21 families were presented with a basket that included turkey, juice, fresh rolls, potatoes and a pie for Thanksgiving Day.

Sleep in Heavenly Peace Fundraiser

West Geauga students participated in the Sleep in Heavenly Peace fundraiser. Every dollar donated goes to build beds for children in the local community so that no child has to sleep on the floor. As a district, $2,285 was raised to give back to those in need.

Middle and High School Tours

The West Geauga Board of Education invites members of the community to tour the middle and high schools on Dec. 16. The community facility tours will provide a behind-the-scenes look into the daily maintenance and operations and provide residents deeper knowledge of the current conditions of each building.

Join at the middle school at 9 a.m., and then head over to the high school at 10:30 a.m.

Blue Ribbon School Celebration

The 2023 National Blue Ribbon School award was officially handed to Robert C. Lindsey Elementary Nov. 16 and 17. Dr. Markwardt, Mrs. Becerra and Mrs. Bellan traveled to Washington, D.C., to receive the honor from the U.S. Department of Education.

Upon their return from the Capitol, Lindsey Elementary School held an all-school assembly to continue the celebration of the outstanding accomplishment. In addition to the Lindsey students and staff, the current sixth-grade class, West Geauga Board of Education members and administration and students from the high school drumline returned and filled the gymnasium to take part in the celebration.
