Sheriff’s Report
The following is a sampling of the calls handled by the Geauga County Sheriff’s Office May 5-11, 2017. In total, the sheriff’s office handled 338 calls during this seven-day period.
LITTERING
May 6
12:12 p.m., Campton Ridge Drive, Chardon. Neighbors had a party and there is trash all over the road and complainants property. Caller also advised to take pictures and notify her association about the renters. Deputy advised. Residents had a birthday party. Came out and picked up the trash. Complainant notified.
SUSPICIOUS
May 9
6:04 a.m., Kinsman Road, Middlefield. Truck has been sitting across the drive from Jeff’s Towing, backed in with lights on. Been sitting there all night long. Caller saw it before he went to bed at 10:30 a.m. and it’s still there. Deputy spoke with Jeff’s Towing who advised the vehicle is one of their junk vehicles. They started it yesterday and forgot to turn it off. Party asked if we would turn the vehicle and leave the keys with it, they will be in shortly.
THREATENNG
May 7
4:32 p.m., Rock Creek Road, Thompson. Someone wrote on caller’s car window, a stick figure and a sword with its head cut off, “Dead by daylight Ha Ha.” Caller has suspicion of who may have done this. Would like to speak with a deputy. Call canceled. It was the caller’s 11-year-old daughter. She confessed it was something she saw on YouTube.
TRAFFIC CRASH
May 8
6:34 p.m., Washington St., Auburn. Male is at Bainbridge Police Department to report he was run over by a vehicle while at Excalibur Collision. Subject is limping but has refused rescue. Report taken from possible suspect.
UNCONSIOUSNESS
May 8
10:34 p.m., Fairmount Road, Newbury. 47-year-old female bleeding from the mouth, unresponsive but breathing. No medical history. Not responding to pain. Newbury Fire on scene. Female was awake on their arrival. Fire personnel stated she has the symptoms of having a seizure. Fire personnel transporting female to E.R.
UNSECURE PREMISES
May 6
8:19 a.m., Kinsman Road, Newbury. Employee’s found front door of PNC Bank unlocked. He is sitting in a white Prius. Possibly left unlocked from cleaning crew but policy advises to call and have a sheriff go through the building to make sure no one is inside. Deputy conducted a walk through. Everything checked OK. We met with the keyholder who also walked through the bank. No problems to note.
