Sheriff’s Report
The following is a sampling of the calls handled by the Geauga County Sheriff’s Office June 9-15, 2017. In total, the sheriff’s office handled 224 calls during this seven-day period.
EXTRA PATROL
June 9
2:20 p.m., Auburn Road, Auburn. Requesting extra patrol for all hours of the day. There are several cars including a black F350 with a loud exhaust that races up and down the road. Caller would like to speak with a deputy and discuss the dynamics of the roadway. Extra patrol for a black pickup truck.
VANDALISM
June 12
2:24 p.m., Rapids Road, Troy. The caller advised that all of the stop signs in the area have been shot with a shotgun. The deputy spoke with the complainant who advised that over the past couple days he and a couple friends had noticed that someone had shot holes in all the stop signs that intersect Rapids Road. Complainant does not know who shot the signs or what it was done. Complainant just wanted to report the damage and request an extra patrol for the area.
WATER RESCUE
June 12
6:51 p.m., Valley Road, Auburn. Two gray kayaks overturned with people in the water. 1.5 miles north of the boathouse, center of the lake. Both occupants were taken out of the water by the fire department.
